Nguyễn Trịnh Quang Minh

Born in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 1998, Nguyễn Trịnh Quang Minh is a multidisciplinary artist based in Hội An. Raised in a family of artists, he initially pursued studies in business before choosing to dedicate himself fully to a creative practice shaped by observation, travel, and human connection.

Over the past seven years, Minh has developed a diverse body of work spanning painting, murals, sculpture, and illustration. His projects are inspired by the people, landscapes, and everyday moments he encounters throughout Vietnam and beyond.

His notable works include the Cowcycle series (2023–2025), comprising 30 paintings and a sculpture, as well as numerous murals and original paintings. Alongside his artistic practice, he has worked as an art teacher, photo tour guide, graphic designer, and creative collaborator within community-based projects in Hội An.

Minh is the founder of Mas Arroz Studio and has exhibited his work in Hanoi and Hội An.

Artist statement:

My paintings and murals are shaped by reflection, travel, and the people I meet along the way. Based in Hội An, I draw inspiration from everyday encounters, observations, and the quiet details that often go unnoticed.

I don’t pursue a fixed style. My work evolves with my interests and experiences, but remains grounded in careful observation, craftsmanship, and honesty.

I believe an artwork should be able to exist without its maker. Rather than relying on explanation, it should hold its own presence and invite curiosity. My role is simply to pay attention and translate an experience into a form that respects its subject matter and leaves space for the viewer’s own discovery.
