"towards peace"

9-16.08.2025

Towards Peace was a community based printmaking residency and exhibition project led by artist Sasi and master printmaker Elizabeth Hunter in Đà Nẵng, Vietnam.

Over four intensive weeks, the artists guided 43 participants through a series of workshops inspired by the traditional Đông Hồ woodcut printing technique, reimagined through a contemporary lens. The project brought together people from different backgrounds in a shared creative process centred around dialogue, collaboration, and cultural exchange.

The residency culminated in a public exhibition at the Bach Dang Complex, followed by a continuation of the exhibition at Studio 88 in Đà Nẵng. Presented within the intimate setting of the collective, the second exhibition expanded the project’s message of connection, reflection, and peace through art.

All exhibited works were available for purchase, with 100% of proceeds donated to CORMIS, supporting marginalised communities across Vietnam through education and creative collaboration.

What began as a series of workshops gradually turned into something more personal, creating lasting connections between the artists, participants, and everyone involved in the project.
